Final Spring Time Touches
Once your spring clean up and first cut are completed, it is time for the final touches. Many people excitedly select their spring and summer annuals! These flowers are great for adding splashes of color to your landscape, as well as drawing attention to certain areas.
When the design of your selected annuals has been laid out and properly planted, the last and final step is mulch. Mulch serves several purposes in addition to providing aesthetic contrast for your plants. Mulch generally holds moisture, especially after it rains, keeping the base of your plants damp for a few days. This allows the plants to soak up the water from the mulch. Mulch also provides shade for the plants’ root bases and keeps the ground cooler, allowing the plants to continue to thrive as the weather starts to warm up.
